I haven't been online much lately. This past week was a lot of fun and also very busy. My brother, Daniel (as mentioned in a previous post) came to put vinyl siding on our house (THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!). He did this right before he moves several hundred miles to start a new job ... wow! Isn't he wonderful???!! He brought Brandon and Casey with him (twins who work for him). Daniel, Lindsay (his wife), Brandon, and Casey stayed at our house from Wednesday through this Monday morning. It was a full house, but a crazy great party! My parents also came up and helped, but they stayed in their camper that they brought with them. Then, this weekend, my brother, Jonathan also came up. So, everyone but James and Stacey were here ... it was great to see everyone! :)
So, the siding on the house is finished and looks FANTASTIC!!! What with the new windows and new siding ... you truly wouldn't recognize it! We have shutters to put up, but haven't put them up, yet. I am trying to paint the kids room. I'd love to have fresh paint in the whole house, but also would really like to move in sometime before my kids turn 18! This is really my first opportunity myself to paint a room ... so, professional it will NOT be ... my goal is to have it not look hideous when I am finished! We'll see. So far, the girls love it ... which is the true goal!
Troy is working on the kitchen ... which is really now the only reason we can't move in. He is ready to put in the subfloor, the concrete backer board, and then the tile. After removing all of the layers of flooring, he had to level the floor in the back room and then also jack up the kitchen floor from the basement as it was sagging. So, there was a LOT more that went into redoing the kitchen floor than we EVER anticipated. Ah well, it'll be wonderful when it is finished. But, it would be a challenge for us to move in with no refrigerator or stove, so we will wait until the kitchen floor is finished.
Just wanted to give a quick update. Pictures to follow! :)
