Art Fieldtrips and Valentine's Celebrations

Last Friday, we went with a group of our homeschool friends (almost 30 kids in all) to take an American Art tour at the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City and then over to Kaleidoscope where the kids did their own art.  The Nelson Atkins is a fabulous art museum (though I'm not an art museum fan) with great docents who talk to the kids and ask them questions and make the art come alive for the children (I might add, it is also free!).  Kaleidoscope is a place created by Hallmark (the card company ... which is based in Kansas City).  It is also a free attraction and one my kids have enjoyed visiting many times.  This time happened to be especially crowded, but we still had a good time!  Then on that same Friday evening, we had our Valentine's party with the homeschool group.  You'll see the boxes the kids made for their valentine's.
